This policy covers the applications published by Alanite Software Ltd ("Alanite," "we," "us"): Clepsydra, Ostrakon, Tally This, Bone Oracle, and Diogenes' Lantern. It explains what data, if any, each app collects, why, and how it is handled.
Our apps are built to do one small thing each, without asking you to create an account or hand over more than necessary. Most of what they do — timing a session, marking a count, writing and discarding a thought — happens entirely on your device.
None of our apps require an account, a sign-in, or any form of registration. We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, or browsing history. We do not sell or share data with advertisers, and we do not run advertising of any kind.
App content — timer sessions, tally counts, written and discarded entries, oracle casts — is stored locally on your device. Alanite does not operate a server that receives or stores this content.
Where an app offers sync across your own devices, it uses the sync mechanism native to your platform — iCloud on iOS, or your Google Account's native backup on Android. This sync is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy terms; Alanite does not have access to this data and does not store a copy of it on any server we operate.
You can review how Apple and Google handle this data in their own policies: Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
Our apps do not use any third-party crash or performance reporting service. No diagnostic data is sent to Alanite or any external provider. If this changes in a future update, this section will be updated accordingly.
All purchases — whether a one-time app purchase or an in-app purchase — are processed entirely by Apple's App Store (via StoreKit) or Google Play's billing system. Alanite never receives or stores your payment details, such as card numbers. We may receive confirmation that a purchase was made, but this is handled by Apple or Google under their own privacy terms.
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since our apps do not collect personal data in the first place, this risk is minimal, but if you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will address it.
If the data practices of any Alanite app change — for example, if we add a new analytics provider or a feature that requires an account — this policy will be updated, and the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
